Batch orders are created from formulas, which can be defined to have catch weight items as formula items, co-products, and by-products. The formula can also be defined with formula lines for ingredients defined for catch weight. Catch weight items use two units of measure to track inventory: catch weight quantity and inventory quantity. For example, in the food industry, boxed meat can be defined as a catch weight item, where the catch weight quantity is used for tracking the number of boxes and the inventory quantity is used for tracking the weight of the boxes.
